
New London, NH - Shirley (Symons) Crepon, 100, of Fenwood Drive, died Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Summercrest in Newport where she had been staying for the past two years.
She was born in Skowhegan, ME on February 20, 1924 the daughter of Leon W. and Anne Mayna (Gordon) Symons.
She graduated from Skowhegan High School and from Becker College. In her younger years, Shirley lived in New York City and worked in an office for a CPA. She lived in Watertown, CT for 50 years before moving to New London, NH in 1997.
She was a member of The First Baptist Church of New London, had been on the KREM (Kearsarge Regional Ecumenical Ministries) Board and The Friends of Colby-Sawyer Library Advisory Board. She enjoyed playing bridge and organized and directed the Duplicate Bridge Program at Kearsarge Area Council on Aging for 10 years where she had also served on the Board of Directors. She loved to do counted thread embroidery. Building miniature furniture was a favorite hobby and she took classes on the art of it. Shirley also loved to write.
Shirley is predeceased by her husbands, John A. Crane in 1952 and Harold W. Crepon in 1994. She is also predeceased by a sister, Marilyn Symons Pelley and two brothers, John Symons and Gordon Symons. She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Claudia and Richard Donadio of Grantham, NH; six nephews and one grandniece.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
