FBC was fortunate to receive a generous bequest from Patricia ‘Pat’ D. Kelsey in 2015. Trustees decided to tithe a portion of this gift in order to give back to the community Pat dearly loved.  One project to be supported by this tithe, is a collaborative course of study at Colby-Sawyer College.

To be true to Pat’s devotion to young people, education and this community an Integrative Studies course entitled, “Narrative and Community: Telling Our Story”, was created by Colby-Sawyer. Members of FBC will be working with the College to develop, present and celebrate the lives of our elder members.

Nursing major Nicole Moore ’18 and English major Kennedy O’Toole ’17 met with Carlton Bradford, a New London writer, veteran and businessman. “I’m so excited to integrate my background in humanities with Nicole’s background in nursing to tell Carlton’s story. It is an honor to get to know him and turn his life into a narrative,“ said O’Toole.
