Music is a precious gift from God and is an integral part of our worship experience. At First Baptist we offer both traditional and contemporary forms of worship.
At our Traditional Worship service (Sunday mornings at 9am), we use the “Worship and Rejoice” Hymnal. The choir prepares and presents anthems and responses in a variety of styles, accompanied by our Schantz Pipe Organ and piano. Our choir rehearses on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 8:00 a.m. in the fall, winter, and spring. During the summer a pick-up choir meets at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings. All are welcome to participate. For more information, please contact our Music Director, David Chaves (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Our Contemporary Worship service, The Gathering, celebrates in word and song Sundays at 11am. Our worship team rehearses music on Wednesday evenings at 5:30pm, and Sunday mornings at 10am. The group includes as many as a dozen musicians on guitar, bass, flute, piano, harmonica, drums and vocals. We welcome new members. For more information, please contact our Music Director, David Chaves (email@example.com).
Our adult Handbell Choir is an ecumenical ensemble comprised of individuals with a wide range of musical skills and knowledge. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30pm in the Handbell Choir Room, and plays at one Sunday worship service a month, as well as for special events and concerts throughout the year. The choir rings a five-octave set of English-made White Chapel handbells. New ringers with basic music-reading skills are always welcome.
